Rules of Remote Learning

CLASSROOM RULES AND VALUES

S.H.A.R.K - Self Regulation, Hard Work, Accountability, Resourceful, Kind

These rules are designed to help the classroom run more smoothly and efficiently so that everyone will have the opportunity to learn.

  •     You might find your cell-phone handy for answering questions on certain platforms like NearPod. However, you should not be using your cell-phone for social purposes while online.

  •     Actively participate in all classroom discussions and activities. Please do not open another browser tab and disengage from class. 1) Your participation and voice is valued and 2) All your teachers can see your screen activity on DyKnow!

  •     Be respectful of others, yourself, the teacher and classroom materials at all times.

  •     All school rules and norms from Culture Camp are applicable.

TRANSITION: Be prepared, Be punctual

Please login to class on time. Because technology can be unpredictable, I recommend trying to login 5 minutes before class starts.

*You have 2 minutes from the official start of class to be in your seat with your materials ready to go.

TRACKING SCORES

Tracking your score is an important part of being a good math student--you are more likely to see where you need to improve or what you need to do when you know your progress in class. You can check your grades in PowerSchool.

*Keep your tests! You cannot retake the test if you LOSE your graded test.

*Quizzes cannot be retaken for a higher grade.

GRADING POLICIES

  • Assessments/Projects – 80% of the grade

  • Homework/Other Assignments – 20% of the grade

OTHER POLICIES

  • Homework Assignments

Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday. I do not accept late homework unless there are extenuating circumstances.

  • Restroom Procedures

I plan on having regular breaks during remote class. Please try to wait until these scheduled breaks to use the restroom.

  • Absences and Make-Up Work

The student is responsible for all make-up work after an absence. If it is an extended absence, alternate plans for making up work can be arranged after speaking with a parent. It is always the student’s responsibility to complete the notes and homework.

  • Cheating

Anyone caught cheating on any assignment will receive an automatic grade of 0 and a parent phone call. Cheating includes any form of communication during a test or quiz.  You do not receive a second chance to re-take if you are caught cheating.
